Hi. This is Mic from the YouGotAMic channel - a verified Twitch Partner channel - and for the last few years, the channel has rewarded various streamers with stream donations and purchases from wishlists to help boost their streams.  A lot of mics, headsets, webcams, lights, keyboards, mice and Stream Decks have gone to streamers around the world, oh and yes over 8 million V-BUCKS to viewers.  Going forward, Mic Foundation is the way much of the streamer donations will happen.  Rewards will happen in rounds - hopefully more than one :).  Oh and this not a replacement for the YouGotAMic channel.. Stay tuned on Twitch and X for that.

For each round, the foundation will try to discover eligible streamers to be considered for potential rewards. After the close of a round, the number of streamers indicated for each reward category (below), will be selected to receive the rewards shown.

 

Each round has:

• an opening date (which is the first day the foundation may start looking for eligible streamers);

• closing date (the final day the foundation may look for additional streamers);

• a judging period (during which you should keep regular streaming); and

• reward announcement date (happening in a way to be announced).

Wanna be found?  You've probably seen people 'grind for a team' and this is similar, but you're trying to get discovered by the foundation to be considered for a one-time reward. 

​

To participate in a round and be considered for a reward, just follow ALL of the ROUND 3 DISCOVERY STEPS:​  By following them you are indicating that you have read and agree to all of the statements, requirements, rules and conditions on this page. 

​

The ROUND 3 DISCOVERY STEPS (with ALL needed) are:

• Follow @YouGotAMic (here) on X;

• Follow @micfoundationx (here) on X (turn on notis 'cos that's where the announcements are); 

• Make sure your X account (the one you followed with) is in your Twitch Social Links (under Dashboard, Settings, Channel, About); 

• Repost the round 3 announcement post on X (using the same X account that's in your Twitch Socials Link) -  you can find the post to repost, by clicking here; <--- PEOPLE OFTEN FORGET THIS

• Follow YouGotAMic (here) on Twitch;

• Follow MicFoundation (here) on Twitch;

• Put the tag "MicFoundation" (no spaces) in your stream tags - this is how the foundation can find you; 

• Create a Timer, using your chat bot, which places this exact text in your channel's chat every 10 minutes: "I'm participating in MicFoundation - Find out more at https://www.micfoundation.com"; <--- PEOPLE OFTEN FORGET THIS STEP

• Make sure you meet the applicable ROUND CATEGORY REQUIREMENTS and GENERAL ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS (below); 

• take SOME time to do your regular streams between the round start and end dates and during the judging period.  Obviously easier to get noticed if you stream more than less, but it's not a marathon stream.

 

Please note for now, there's NO OTHER way to be found, no nomination process, no-one you can tell to boost your visibility or reward chances, no commitment for the foundation to search any given day of a round or time of day, and no guarantee that the foundation will find you or even consider you.  The only guarantee is that if you don't follow the requirements, you wont be considered.

Opening time: Sat Dec 28 2024 @ 18:00 UK, 1pm US Eastern Time, 10am US Pacific Time

Closing time: Sat Jan 11 2025 @ 18:00 UK, 1pm US Eastern Time, 10am US Pacific Time - judging starts - no new participants considered after this but existing participants should do regular streaming so judges can check their stream.

Reward announcement date - on or shortly after: Sat Jan 18 2025 - bits awarded to streamers when live, and winners announced on X, @micfoundationx.

There is 1 reward category (with up to 6 streamers rewarded) for this round with a total of up to 35K bits in donation rewards:

ROUND CATEGORY REQUIREMENTS - need ALL:

- stream with or without face webcam; 

- account created more than 3 months before start of round date; 

- not have received a 10K bits reward in a previous round.

Number of streamers rewarded: 6

1st place reward: 10,000 bits donation

2nd to 6th place reward: 5,000 bits donation each - that means instantly reaching payout!!!

These are the GENERAL ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS for being considered for ANY round whenever and if the foundation checks your channel - ALL required:

• Be an active Twitch streamer

• Have reached Twitch Affiliate status

• Be live or have past broadcast VODS published (occurring/dated sometime from round opening to round close and during the judging period) that the foundation can review

• Have Twitch stream Language set to English (and be speaking language)

• Not exhibit DISQUALIFYING ACTIVITIES (below) on stream or in VODS

• Agree that your Twitch channel name, profile picture, any channel profile biographical information, your audio/video likeness, your live streams, any channel VODs/clips/videos, all as publicly available on your Twitch channel, may be (with no expectation that that they WILL be) shared (including in edited form) and publicized by the foundation worldwide, in any medium at any time, royalty-free, and at no cost to the foundation, to promote similar activities of the foundation, and that you own or can sub-license such content assets.

• Agree to all other terms on this page.

Doing any of these DISQUALIFYING ACTIVITIES will mean you are not considered for a reward:

• If the content of your streams falls under these Twitch Content Classification Labels (because you set any of them or should have according to Twitch guidelines and your content):

  • Sexual Themes;​

  • Drugs, Intoxication, or Excessive Tobacco Use;

  • Violent and Graphic Depictions;

  • Significant Profanity or Vulgarity; or

  • Gambling

• Heavy promotion or persistent use of food or drinks marketed as 'energy'/'no sugar'/'zero sugar' or containing artificial sugars/sweeteners.

• Promotion or use of smoking products, vaping products or recreational mood altering drugs (including cannabis and alcohol).

• Known current or historical acute/persistent use of, or enabling of, toxic behaviour on stream, in chat, or in communications on any platform.

• Flagrant disregard for Copyright Law.

• Otherwise violating Twitch Terms of Service, Epic Games Terms of Service or Epic Games End User License Agreement.

• Trying to sway the judgement of, or pestering, foundation team members.

• Any apparent illegal activities.

Twitch, Amazon, Elgato, Corsair, SteelSeries, Logitech, Epic Games and any other manufacturer/provider of rewards (gear, virtual currency or services), do not sponsor nor endorse the foundation or its activities, but we'd like to hear from them if they'd like to :)

Mic Foundation is made possible on a volunteer basis by the YouGotAMic channel's owner/operator, any foundation volunteer judges, its/their licensors, its/their employees, officers, directors, agents, contractors and other representatives, collectively "the foundation team".  You acknowledge that it is run on a volunteer basis, purely out of kindness and that there is no obligation for any donor, judge or other volunteer, to do any of it.

No discussion will be entered in to about the selection process or decisions, nor the identity of team members.  Should a rewardee not be available to communicate about their reward, become ineligible or be unable to receive a reward, a replacement rewardee may be selected at the discretion of the foundation.

No product or service is being offered by Mic Foundation.  No purchase is necessary by an eligible streamer from the foundation team to be considered for a reward.  We'd appreciate it if you visited the YouGotAMic channel and other judges' channels when indicated.  However, donors to the those channels should have no expectation that a donation will influence who gets a reward.  And of course, active judges are never considered for rewards.  The granting of rewards by the foundation is transactional in nature and neither those receiving rewards, nor those trying to be discovered should have any expectation of future rounds nor future rewards nor consistent rewards.  Requirements may change at any time and round may be terminated without not without any rewards given.  If the foundation shares participant content this is not an endorsement of the participant/content nor any indication that they will receive any reward, but possibly gives them some exposure they may deserve.

 

TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, PARTICIPANTS IN FOUNDATION ACTIVITIES (INCLUDING THOSE ATTEMPTING TO BE DISCOVERED OR CONSIDERED FOR A REWARD) AGREE TO RELEASE AND HOLD HARMLESS THE FOUNDATION TEAM FROM ALL CLAIMS, COSTS, DEMANDS, ACTIONS, LOSSES, LIABILITIES, AND EXPENSES RELATED TO PARTICIPATION IN SUCH ACTIVITIES.
